Gold Television Network popularly known as GTN Entertainment has been in the business of media and content creation for over 20 years and has pioneered many concepts and programs on Indian television.

GTN Entertainment developed the first animated series on the techniques of playing cricket in association with Sunil Gavaskar and MRF. And, in association with ace Tennis player Vijay Amritraj, GTN Entertainment produced a television series on Wimbledon titled 'Matchpoint' which was telecast on Doordarshan National Network.

For the first time in the history of Indian television, GTN Entertainment was responsible for starting the live telecast of cricket matches in India. GTN Entertainment in association with Channel 9, Australia and Hansa Vision brought eleven days of exciting live telecast of the Benson & Hedges World Cricket Series Cup from Australia.

Another Television history was the telecast of the major boxing event “Return of Mike Tyson” brought to India live from Las Vegas by GTN Entertainment.

GTN Entertainment in association with Warner Bros., brought many popular television series such as SUPERMAN, BUGS BUNNY, SUPERTED and CHARLIE CHAPLIN on Doordarshan National Network, and WORLD MUSIC AWARDS on Doordarshan Metro Network.

GTN Entertainment acquired the Indian languages satellite rights for a number of Hollywood blockbuster films from Warner Bros International Television and MGM International Television including all the Harry Potter and James Bond franchises.

Having achieved success on the National level, GTN Entertainment started producing programs on a regional level specifically in the Tamil language by associating with the prime Tamil channel, SUN TV. As a matter of fact, GTN Entertainment was the first production company to sign with the Sun Network and went on to produce many programs for Sun TV.

GTN Entertainment started the Sunday morning telecast on Sun TV by taking three hours of telecast every Sunday. The first talk show in Tamil titled “ARATTAI ARANGAM” was produced by GTN Entertainment and was telecast on Sun TV for around twenty years. This talk show was presented by the well-known film writer-actor-director Visu and the show received a GOLD MEDAL as the best talk show on Sun TV. GTN Entertainment also produced another talk show with the veteran actor-editor-politician Cho S.Ramaswamy titled “CHO’S PANCHAYAT” which was also very popular.

The first film-based program with ratings for new Tamil film songs was produced under the title SUPERHIT SHOW and the show was telecast on Sun TV for more than 4 years completing 200 weeks of telecast.

GTN Entertainment, for the first time, privatized the prime-time Saturday feature film slot on Sun TV.

The first mythology in Tamil on the Goddess PARASAKTHI titled ADHI PARASAKTHI was produced by GTN Entertainment and telecast every Sunday morning on Sun TV.

GTN Entertainment also produced the great Indian epic RAMAYANAM in Tamil and Kannada for telecast on Sun TV and Udaya TV respectively. This mega 104 episode series was directed by the well-known director Shri.K.Shankar, who has a reputable track record for films of this genre. The music for this series was composed and conducted by the veterans Shri.M.S.Viswanathan and Shri.T.K.Ramamoorthy, one time greats of the Tamil film industry. A number of well-known film stars appear in important roles in this serial.

GTN Entertainment also produced a mega daily series titled “PENN” which was telecast on Sun TV every Monday to Friday in the 2 PM slot.

Again, for the first time in Indian television, GTN Entertainment brought the techniques of 3D to the small screen. GTN Entertainment signed an exclusive agreement with Dimension 3, Los Angeles, to provide their patented 3D technology and services to produce 3D programs in India. The first 3D television series titled "Mayavi" was produced in Tamil and telecast on Jaya TV.

GTN Entertainment handled the Design and Production of a Reality Competition Show titled “Chance Of A Lifetime’ in association with Hyde Park Entertainment, Imagenation Abu Dhabi and the United Nations. This show was hosted by the prolific filmmaker Ashok Amritraj with prominent personalities as judges in which contestants from Singapore, Middle East and India were challenged to create short films on pressing global challenges and issues. This show was telecast on Pivot channel USA and National Geographic in Asia.

GTN Entertainment in association with Mukesh Khanna produced a new telefilm based on the popular "Shaktiman" series and this telefilm was telecast on Pogo channel.

GTN Entertainment is currently producing the Hindi version of its popular Tamil talk show with Javed Akhtar titled "BOL INDIA BOL" for telecast on Colors TV Channel. A powerful travelling talk show that will open up debates on socially relevant, thought provoking topics concerning every individual, presented in an entertaining format for the Indian audience.

For the first time ever, GTN Entertainment in collaboration with Silly Monks Entertainment Ltd., is producing a television series on the great historical legend "CHANAKYA" portraying his journey as a young brahmacharya, just nine years old. The saga of how the great Chanakya, even in his young age, outwits his enemies, and the other evil people who are always seeking to harm him, a true David vs Goliath presentation. This is a story never told before in any space. A unique take on history, specially created, developed and written for television.

In addition to National and Regional programs, GTN Entertainment has set its targets to be an International player in the television space very soon.
